Irish folk legend Christy Moore is to perform for Tibetan Buddhist leader the Dalai Lama.

The spiritual guru will be entertained by Moore when he visits Northern Ireland next month (Apr13).

The singer/songwriter is the patron of the Children in Crossfire charity and the Dalai Lama will visit the organisation's headquarters in Derry during his trip.

Richard Moore, the director of Children in Crossfire, says, "We are delighted that Christy Moore has agreed to be part of our Culture of Compassion event. Christy is a fantastic ambassador for Irish music and indeed for a culture of compassion."

And Moore can't wait to meet the Dalai Lama. He says, "His Holiness, the Dalai Lama is a spiritual leader who knows and understands the power of compassion, healing and forgiveness."
