Dallas star Patrick Duffy is in talks to save the hit show from the axe.

The revived soap opera, following the backstabbing antics of the Ewing oil dynasty, has been cancelled by bosses at U.S. network Tnt after three seasons.

Fans have launched an online campaign to save the drama and more than 300,000 are backing the drive, including Duffy and his fellow Dallas stars Linda Gray, Josh Henderson, and Brenda Strong.

Now Duffy has revealed there are ongoing negotiations behind the scenes to either keep shooting the series or move it to another network, and he is confident of success.

In a post on Twitter.com, Duffy writes, "Morning all another week of negotiations. No news but still hopeful! Stay strong #SaveDallas."
