Rap mogul Damon Dash is refusing to let his money woes affect his professional life and is "working every day" in an effort to overcome his financial issues.

The star was ordered by a New York judge this week (begs06May13) to pay $330,000 (£212,904), plus an additional $90,000 (£58,065) in interest, to former business partner Tom Nastos, who accused him of reneging on a 2006 loan.

Dash, who once co-owned Roc-A-Fella Records and the Rocawear clothing line with Jay Z, revealed during the hearing that his financial situation meant he was close to being evicted from his rented home in Carmel, New York due a huge rental debt.

However, in a new interview he insists his ongoing personal issues are not affecting his work and he plans to pay his landlord the $100,000 (£64,516) he owes.

He tells the New York Daily News, "I can't touch my money. I can't pay certain bills. But I'm still working every day. It's not stopping me from hustling. I am an entrepreneur. I am real.

"As soon as I get the money, I'll pay it back. It doesn't mean they're going to get paid immediately, but I'm gonna try to figure it out."

Dash also owes more than $2 million (£1.29 million) in taxes to New York state.
