Cheryl BurkeCheryl Burke did not enjoy being partnered with Ian Ziering on 'DWTS'.

Dancing With The Stars Recap: Who Performed, Who Lost And Why?

Dancing With The Stars

This Tuesday’s Dancing With The Stars results episode may have been on of the last, but it was certainly a good way to go out. No, the show won’t be absent from ABC’s roster next season, but the network has announced that the show will be introduced in a new, one episode per week format, making the results episodes obsolete.

This Tuesday’s episode had a lot to offer though, at least as far as evening television goes, with performances by Avril Lavigne and The Wanted. Of course, another contestant got cut from the program in the runup to the finale. This week it was Ingo Rademacher who got voted off after an unimpressive performance. He and partner Kym Johnson were booted off, despite a number of viewers in the studio booing the decision. Now, the remaining contestants have been narrowed down to NFL star Jacoby Jones and Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, as well as country singer Kellie Pickler and Disney star Zendaya.

The episode also featured its token endearing moment, in the form of a segment with 10-year-old dancer Sophia Lucia, 10, of San Diego. "I train 40 hours a week. When I dance, I feel like the happiest girl on Earth," she said, explaining that in March, she broke the Guiness Book's world records for most pirouettes — 55. She then performed live with pro Chelsea Hightower.

A Different Kind Of Knock Out: Victor Ortiz Leaves Dancing With The Stars

Dancing With The Stars Victor Ortiz

Not quite the sort of knock out he’s used to, Victor Ortiz bowed out gracefully from Dancing With The Stars last night (April 23, 2013) after finding himself in the bottom two with reality star Sean Lowe. “I had a blast. I made great friends, including you guys, you beautiful people,” he said, after the announcement came that he would be leaving.

“So at the end of the day it was a heck of an experience and hopefully these beautiful people will follow me to my next championship bout. I’m happy to get this far. I definitely need some dance moves.” Victor and his professional dance partner Lindsay Arnold scored the lowest number of points on Monday night’s show and now the pro boxer will be going home, to concentrate on a different kind of footwork – skipping around the ring, faced with a boxing opponent, rather than skipping around a dance floor with Lindsay. He tweeted a message of thanks to his fans, saying “Huge thanks to all the fans that supported @Dance9Lindsay & I this season! Such an amazing experience and we couldn’t have done it without u.”

Before the show (and Victor’s journey on it) ended, viewers were treated to performances from British pop star Olly Murs as well as the Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am, as everyone waited for the results.

Note Sent To 'Dancing With The Stars': Remove Bristol Palin, Or Else

Bristol Palin Dancing With The Stars

The FBI and LAPD have been called in after Dancing With The Stars contestant Bristol Palin - the daughter of Sarah - received a 'suspicious package' at the CBS studio lot in West Hollywood last week. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com that both federal agencies are taking the threat 'very seriously."

A package containing a white powdery substance addressed to Bristol was opened at the studio, though it was the foreboding letter attached that has caused the most consternation amongst cast and crew. The note demanded that show producers remove Palin from the current series of the reality dancing show, or else. Initial tests revealed the white powder was not harmful, though investigators are understandably keen to trace the sender, especially considering this isn't the first that the Bristol has received this type of threat. Back in 2010, CBS received a suspicious letter containing a similar demand to remove the polarizing 21-year-old from their broadcasts.

The 15th season of Dancing with the Stars - dubbed the 'All Star' competition - brings together the most popular contestants from the franchise thus far. Palin is competing against the likes of Kirstie Alley, Emmitt Smith, Drew Lachey and Kelly Monaco.

First ‘9’ On Dancing With The Stars, Courtesy Of Sabrina Bryan

Dancing With The Stars Season 15 had its first ‘9’ score last night (October 1, 2012), courtesy of girl band singer Sabrina Bryan. Her routine, with Louis Van Amstel, had the judges in rapture, especially Carrie Ann Inaba who said she’d never seen such lines of Dancing With the Stars before, according to People magazine. Bruno Tonioli awarded Sabrina 8.5 and compared her to Ginger Rogers, at the height of her career: “a true dazzler.” Len Goodman was equally full of praise for The Cheetah Girls star, remarking on her upper body control and legwork: “the hits just keep on coming,” he said.

At the other end of the scale was Bristol Palin who went home with the lowest score of the evening – a paltry 18, which was less than last week’s score of 19.5. “You were not in hold enough,” Bruno told her, as her Western-inspired routine failed to impress. Palin explained that she had taken her dancing partner Mark Ballas to a shooting range to give him an insight into her world but that sadly hadn’t translated into chemistry on the dance floor.

It was the second episode of the show and tonight, someone will be going home, in the Dancing With The Stars results show. One dancer unlikely to exit tonight is Kirstie Alley, who proved to the judges that her age should not be an obstacle to her progressing n the competition. “Age is just a number and you just proved that to us,” said Carrie Ann, whilst Bruno told her “Experience counts, and you showed it. You blended beautifully.”
