The actor had a ‘torturous’ time filming the psychological horror movie.
Dane DeHaan will never look at spas the same way after filming A Cure For Wellness.
The actor stars opposite Mia Goth and Jason Isaacs in the psychological horror film, which takes place inside a mysterious spa located in the Swiss Alps. DeHaan plays Lockhart, a ambitious young executive who’s sent to the ‘wellness center’ in order to rescue his boss.

When asked if the experience of shooting the movie had changed the way he views spas, the actor said: “I definitely don’t look at spas the same, even coming here today I saw an advertisement for a spa that probably wanted to come off as serene and wonderful. But probably cause I'm doing press for this movie now it just kind of looked creepy to me.”
Describing his time on set, DeHaan added: “Just every day was really crazy and terrifying and often times torturous and I go through a lot, a lot of crazy spa treatments spend a lot of time in a cast it was a wild, crazy adventure just like the film.”

The film raises a lot of questions about what ‘wellness’ really is, especially through the experiences of Lockhart. “I think it asks a lot of questions. If there’s a cure for wellness that means that there’s a sickness and I think, my character inhabits and has those symptoms,” DeHaan said.
“He’s working tirelessly but only for his own personal gain and wealth and power and what good is that really doing to him or to society? The answer is probably no good at all.”
A Cure For Wellness hits US theatres on February 17, 2017.
