'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' actor Dane DeHaan is set to play a young roadie in concert movie and fantasy hybrid film 'Metallica: Through The Never'.
Dane DeHaan will star in an unusual Metallica concert movie.
'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' actor has been cast as a young roadie whose world gets turned upside down after he is sent on an urgent mission by the heavy metal band as they play to a sold-out crowd in 'Metallica: Through The Never'.
The innovative film, written and directed by 'Predators' helmer Nimrod Antal, will blend the traditional concert movie format with Dane's fictional storyline.
Bob Berney of distribution company Picturehouse said in a statement: ''Nim and the band have made a film that really captures the spirit of Metallica and their millions of loyal fans.
''It's an entertaining genre film with a concert inside it, a fun ride featuring an exciting young actor, Dane DeHaan. It's a very cool project to reboot Picturehouse with.''
Up-and-coming actor Dane made a name for himself in 'Chronicle' and had small parts in 'Lawless' and 'Lincoln'.
He landed the coveted role of Peter Parker's best friend Harry Osbourn in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' in December and will star alongside Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield in the 2014 follow-up to last year's popular film.
Harry - played by James Franco in Sam Raimi's earlier triology - is hero Peter's tormented best friend who later goes on to become his enemy. He is also the son of the villainous Green Goblin's alter-ego Norman Osborn.
Metallica were last seen on the big screen in behind-the-scenes documentary 'Some Kind Of Monster'.
'Metallica: Through The Never' hits cinemas in the UK on August 9.
