Daniel Craig has spoken out against UK politicians in an interview with Men's Journal. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star pointed the finger of blame at Tony Blair for giving politicians the green light to schmooze with celebrities. Blair famously aligned himself with UK pop culture at the height of the 'Britpop' era in the 1990s, by inviting the likes of Noel Gallagher to his residence at 10 Downing Street.
The James Bond actor went on to state that he was disappointed by Tony Blair's time as the UK Prime Minister, describing Blair's Labour party as 'Tories dressed in red." In Craig's opinion, actors and politicians should not mix but he did, however, take time to praise fellow actor George Clooney, who is well known for his political activism - especially his work in Sudan. He said "George has his finger on the political pulse. He's one of those guys who can get up and talk and I don't have that." Daniel Craig has also publicly criticised Kim Kardashian in recent weeks, for her short-lived marriage to Kris Humphries. Kim's mother Kris Jenner has demanded that the UK actor apologises for his comments.
Daniel Craig is set to star in all three of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Films, alongside Rooney Mara. The first of the trilogy was released this month (December 2011).
