Daniel Craig's turn as James Bond has garnered praise from many, especially in the latest reincarnation, Skyfall, which gets its full release today, October 26.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the current 007 posed the question, "Who would I rather be, captain of Liverpool or Bond?" before answering his own whimsical ponderings with: "Well, I don't think I could keep up any more so Bond will do, but Steven Gerrard would make a good Bond. He is a good leader, so you know what, seriously, who knows?" Steven Gerrard has had the same haircut since he was 10, but on the other hand, he rarely smiles, so it's really down to personal opinion. We at Contact Music might prefer the mercurial talents of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who once invited the entire Swedish squad to his mansion for wild bore, which he shot himself, to try and take the British super spy series up a notch; him or the rugged determination of Didier Drogba.

Following Skyfall's premiere, the critics are hailing it as 'the best bond ever', which, considering we're well and truly enveloped in Oscars season, means that this might be the Bond that breaks the franchise's curse with the Academy Awards. Ian Flemming's creation has enjoyed a measly return from the judging panel, with many believing that there's a certain snobbery attached to franchises. Does Skyfall deserve recognition? We reckon so.
