As the British novelist released a short story about the adult lives of Harry, Ron and Hermione, the 24 year-old actor confirms that he will not be reprising his role as the famous boy wizard anytime soon.
Once J.K. Rowling released the new 'Harry Potter' short story, detailing the adult lives of the book series' famous trio, fans were rejoicing everywhere.
But before long they were quickly hit with the bad news, shortly after the 1,500 word piece was uploaded onto the British author's Pottermore website, Daniel Radcliffe quickly denied that he will be reprising his role as the young wizard anytime soon.
Radcliffe won't be reprising his role as Harry Potter in the near future
When asked at the Television Critics Association summer tour about the idea of resurrecting Potter in a new movie based on the short story, the 24 year-old actor said, "My inclination is to say no. I don't think it's a question that's even - not even hypothetical," via The Hollywood Reporter.
"I haven't read it yet, though I will," he confessed. "But my understanding is that it's a very short piece, not of itself worthy of adaptation to film."

Radcliffe also noted that the his famous character is "at least 12 years older than I am now,' elaborating: "I don't think I'll have to worry about that for a long time."
Since starring as Harry Potter for a ten year period, from 2001 until 2011, Radcliffe has taken on a new career path, which includes Broadway work, Independent, and diverse, films. But when asked if this was done purposely after his time as a child actor, he was very dignified in his response.

"I think it is connected to Potter, but maybe not in the way everyone thinks," he said. "What it is, I played only one character for such a long time, I think there's a little bit of envy and desire to try as many different things as possible. Now that I'm in that position, I'm trying to while the getting is good."
J.K. Rowling wrote a 1,500 word short story about the famous trio when they are 34 years-old
Rowling's new story was written as a Daily Prophet article through the eyes of gossip columnist Rita Skeeter, detailing Harry, Ron and Hermione reuniting at the 2014 Quidditch World Cup, all aged 34.
Since their storied adventures, Harry has found work as an Auror, a member of a special unit of elite officers trained to apprehend Dark Wizards, and Ron runs a joke shop while his famous ginger locks "appears to be thinning slightly." But he still remains married to Hermione, who has achieved a "meteoric rise" to Deputy Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. They duo are parents to two children, Hugo and Rose.
