Where Are The 'Harry Potter' Stars Now?

News that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is to be made into a film trilogy may be the best thing we’ve ever heard. The Harry Potter spin-off will be written by J.K. Rowling and the plot will focus on Magizoologist Newt Scamander.

While we can’t wait to find out more facts about the upcoming films, we also can’t help but think about how much we miss the original bunch.

Dan Rad can currently be found performing in The Cripple of Inishman

Daniel Radcliffe couldn’t have been less Potter since the completion of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II. The 24 year old actor graduated to serious (and rather erotic) theatre in Equus, shortly after the franchise came to an end. Radcliffe has since starred in very creepy ghost film The Woman in Black as widowed lawyer Arthur Kipps as well as Kill Your Darlings alongside the new Green Goblin Dane DeHaan. Radcliffe can also be found in A Young Doctor’s Notebook, a British dark comedy adapted from the works of Russian author Mikhail Bulgakov. He’s also been dabbling with more theatre of late, receiving rave reviews in The Cripple of Inishman.

Rupert Grint came into his own as Ron Weasley, evolving into quite a remarkable comic actor. Since the Potter franchise finished Grint has starred in several films, including Into the White and Charlie Countryman. He played Rocket From the Tombs guitarist Cheetah Chrome in the 2013 historical film CBGB and has lent his voice to Josh in the upcoming Postman Pat: The Movie.

Hermione Granger AKA Emma Watson is the girl of the moment. After starring as quirky Sam in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Watson can currently be found in the biblical epic movie Noah alongside Oscar winner Russell Crowe. Watson’s career is going from strength to strength, as well as her status as bonafide fashionista.

Bonnie Wright may have played Ginny Weasley in one of the biggest movie franchises of all time, but these days you’ll be more likely to find her working on indie projects. Wright has starred in Rose The Sea and After the Dark, with upcoming movies Before I Sleep and Those Who Wonder billed to come out soon. Wright takes the lead in Those Who Wonder, an independent comedy road trip film.

Who would have predicted that Neville Longbottom would one day be “the hot one”? Matt Lewis has certainly left his days as forgetful Longbottom in the past, these days you’ll find him on acclaimed BBC drama series The Syndicate.
