Although they have filed for divorce, Courteney Cox says David Arquette is her best friend.
David Arquette is Courteney Cox's best friend.
Although the former couple split up in 2010 and filed divorce papers in June 2012, Courteney still loves David, who is the father of her eight-year-old daughter Coco.
She told chat show host Ellen DeGeneres: ''He's my best friend in the world. I love him.''
''I appreciate David more now than I ever did. I mean ... it's hard. I don't recommend divorce in general, but, you know, he is my best friend and we've both grown and changed.''
Courteney, 48, also believes their split has brought her and David, 41, closer.
She added: ''I think we both appreciate each other more. I hope he does. I do.''
Courteney has been single since splitting with David -and her 'Cougar Town' co-stars have previously revealed they want to help her find a new man.
When asked who he would pick for Courteney to date, co-star Brian van Holt pointed at Dan Byrd and joked: ''She loves this man right here, she likes the cerebral hunk type.''
Another 'Cougar Town' star, Busy Philipps, said she thinks the former 'Friends' actress needs someone who can coax her out to party.
She said: ''A couple of people have asked me who I would set Courteney up with.
''I think she is a homebody and if Courteney had her way she would never leave her house, so she does need a partner who will bring her out and just tell her she has no choice and, make her go out into the world.
''She prefers everyone to come to her beautiful house, and by the way if my house was as good as hers I'd never want to leave it.''
