David Beckham wants his children to live In America for years to come so his four children can grow up normally.

The soccer player - who has three sons Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, nine, Cruz, seven, plus a daughter, Harper Seven, almost one - believe they would be able to enjoy their childhood more in the United States.

He said: ''The kids are a number one priority and for the last five years they have been ­incredibly happy here.

''They go to school and are treated like normal kids, whereas maybe in Europe it's been different for us.

Speaking at a lunch honouring The Legends of his La Galaxy team, he added: ''The attention we had there as a family and on our kids was a lot more intense.''

''For the kids to be brought up around this atmosphere and this way of living is the most important thing.''

The 37-year-old sportsman and his 38-year-old fashion designer wife Victoria Beckham, had previously enjoyed a spell living in Spain when he played for football team Real Madrid.

The former Spice Girls member recently jetted to London to launch the a musical theatre production based on the female group.
