Viewers have got their first look at David Beckham's upcoming appearance in an Only Fools and Horses sketch for Sport Relief. The new skit, which reunites Del Boy (David Jason) and Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst) for the first time in over a decade, also stars Beckham - who made the first move to get the project off the ground.

In a newly released teaser clip, Beckham is seen sitting with Del Boy and Rodney in a Peckham café, wearing a pair of oversized spectacles. When Del Boy quizzes him on his peculiar eyewear,  the former England captain offers up a line that Jason's market trader character would be proud of.

"To be fair, I thought if I was to wear those, nobody would recognise me. I would be a bit, you know, incognitive."

Creator John Sullivan's writer son Jim penned the new sketch and he praised Beckham's performance, saying: "His acting and delivery were very good. It was lovely to meet him."

Only Fools and Horses is often considered Britain's finest sitcom and the 1996 Christmas special - in which Del Boy finally came good on his promise to become a millionaire - was watched by more than 24 million people.

This year's Sport Relief television footage comes live from the Olympic Park with presenters including Gary Lineker, Gaby Logan, Clare Balding and comedian Jack Whitehall.

David Beckham's cameo in Only Fools and Horses will be aired later this month on BBC One.
