David Bowie has dominated the list of the biggest selling albums of 2016 so far, with three of his records claiming places in the top 10. The list, compiled by OfficialCharts.com, also shows that 2015’s biggest selling album, Adele’s 25, is still shifting an extraordinary amount of copies and is so far 2016’s best seller.

Adele’s 25 has racked up sales of 406,000 to top the list, which is based on physical, digital and streaming equivalent sales. Last year the album sold 2.49 million copies following its  November release and the addition of 2016’s sales mean it’s just shy of 3million.

In second place is David Bowie’s Blackstar which was released just days before his death in January. The album has sold far had 345,000 combined sales. The top 10 also includes two more entries from Bowie, 2002’s Best Of Bowie at four and 2014’s Nothing Has Changed – The Very Best Of at 10.

Further down the list Bowie has three more enteries from classic albums Hunky Dory at 22, The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars at 24 and Aladdin Sane at 38. The year’s third best selling album so far is Justin Bieber’s Purpose, with 269,000 combined sales.

The top five is then rounded off by Jess Glynne’s I Cry When I Laugh. Other entries include Coldplay’s A Head Full Of Dreams, Elvis Presley’s If I Can Dream, James Bay’s Chaos And The Calm and Little Mix’s'Get Weird.
