British conspiracy theory Utopia is heading to the U.S, and it couldn’t have found a better home. HBO are remaking the show, which first broadcast on Channel 4 last year. The stateside adaptation – which comes from the most premium of cable services – will be written by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn and will be directed by, wait for it, David Fincher.

The pair worked together on the film adaption of Flynn’s book, starring Ben Affleck. Fincher is no stranger to UK – U.S exports; he helmed two episodes of House of Cards – the beautifully shot political thriller adapted by Beau Willamon from the four-episode UK version for Netflix.

House of Cards season 2 kicks off tomorrow, on Valentines Day. The original Utopia, a six-part series, aired on Channel 4 in January 2013 and starred Neil Maskell, Alexandra Roach, and Adeel Akhtar, with Fiona O’Shaughnessy playing the enigmatic Jessica Hyde. A second season is done and will air in the summer.

“You’re constantly asked to adjust your moral take on what you’re seeing. Each one of them reaches a moral impasse, as in Breaking Bad, and they have to make difficult decisions without completely losing the audience’s sympathy,” wrote Richard Vine of the show in December. “In a world where it’s never clear who is bad and who is good – we’re constantly shifting allegiance." It’s the opposite of a passive viewing experience and almost a physical workout at times.” HBO aren’t just interested in bolstering their drama roster. They’ve ordered a new comedy called Brink, which stars Jack Black and Tim Robbins. Not that anyone else cares what’s going on whilst the painfully good True Detective is on.
