The new movie, which stars Jesse Eisenberg, easily took the top-spot with a solid opening weekend, taking $23 million.
'The Social Network' tells the story of the enigmatic founder of Facebook, MARK ZUCKERBERG, who finds himself caught up in lawsuits and personal betrayals in his quest to make his website a success. The much anticipated biopic was also a success away from the box office, receiving critical acclaim from reviewers and being hyped as a possible OSCAR contender.
Oliver Stone'S 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps', the sequel to the 1986 classic 'Wall Street' was sitting pretty at the top of the box-office last week, but the movie has been knocked down to third place, talking $10.1 million in its second weekend. 'Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, the animated 3D film, went in at number-two, and Ben Affleck'S much praised 'The Town' was down to fourth place. Other movies featuring in this week's box-office top ten were the vampire flick 'Let Me In', drama 'Case 39', and the romantic comedy 'Easy A'.
