Is David Hasselhoff retiring? His actions recently certainly bear the hallmarks of someone heading off towards the land of bingo halls, church fates and weekly trips to the hospital. As with many who retire, Hasselhoff seems to be downsizing his life somewhat. Following his decision to sell his luscious house in Encino for a cool $3.795 million, the Hoff has made a move on a cheaper property, a home in Calabasas for a significantly cheaper $1.95 million.

So what gives, Hoff? Perhaps he’s just playing the housing market like a shrewd dealer, but we reckon that – aged 60 – the dude’s looking to wind things down a little, and who can blame him. He did a lot of running about as part of Baywatch, the fella probably took a few years off his life just doing that. Sources have told TMZ that the actor and multi-million selling musician (mainly in Germany) purchased the 5,767-sq.-ft. Mediterranean home in Calabasas last week.

Its vital statistics include a 5-bedroom, 6-bathroom house sits in a small gated community. It’s even got its own basketball court, so it’s not exactly like he’s roughing it in his old age. We’d be surprised to see him out shooting hoops on a regular basis, though saying that he has kept himself trim all these years, maybe that’s the secret.
