David Letterman Is Sticking Around, But The Late Show Says Goodbye To Darlene Love

David Letterman Darlene Love

Just two days after Stephen Colbert aired his final Comedy Central episode, David Letterman – aka the man Colbert will be replacing as of next fall – had an equally sentimental finale on The Late Show. This one was just a mid-season ending, before Letterman flies south for winter – or whatever it is that late night hosts do for the holidays – but the TV vet pulled out all the stops anyway.

Letterman hosted a cheesy, old-school finale, to match his cheesy, old-school run on the Late Show. And I mean that in the best way.  Of course, it’s not really Christmas, if you haven’t heard Darlene Love croon out Last Christmas. Having her sing on the Late Show was kind of like a warm hug, followed by a mug of hot choc with marshmallows in TV form...

Watch Love's final Late Show performance below.

Colbert To Host Last Ever "Report" On Comedy Central This Thursday

Stephen Colbert David Letterman Bill O'Reilly

Rest in peace, The Colbert Report. Stephen Colbert’s pretend conservative pundit was so close to the real thing that at times we tended to forget it was all satire. Twitter certainly seemed to forget pretty often. But after almost ten years, the joke is almost over.

Stephen Colbert
Will we finally see the real face of Stephen Colbert?

Colbert will host his final show on Comedy Central, before taking over The Late Show from David Letterman. It was a good run, a character that started a life of its own, after being modelled on a real, but equally outrageous public figure – Fox’s Bill O’Reilly. In fact, O’Reilly was keenly aware that the joke was on him – and he did NOT appreciated. The Fox News Channel icon once joked that the next book in his Killing series would be Killing Colbert. He is yet to fulfil that threat, though, while Colbert is steadily moving up.

It’s quite possible that Emma Stone has it all.She blooming gorgeous with an absolutely beautiful (and surely extremely well-spoken as he’s British) boyfriend. Not only that but she can act and has a very impressive movie catalogue to prove it which includes the hilarious Superbad, the zombie film with a funny twist, Zombieland and the action-packed Amazing Spider-Man series.

Dave Chappelle Breaks Silence On Missing Out On $50M After Sudden 'Chappelle's Show' Ending

Dave Chappelle David Letterman

So Dave Chappelle has finally addressed the ending of his hit Comedy Central show, Chappelle's Show, which came to an abrupt and unexplained ending in the mid-noughties. Well, we say that but the comedian dodged Letterman's questions regarding his sudden departure and even hinted that walking away from the project wasn't for good.

"I don't talk about it," Chappelle said on The Late Show with David Letterman. "Listen, here it is: Technically, I never quit. I'm seven years late for work."

What he did discuss was the money he reportedly lost out on: back in 2004, Chappelle was at the top of his game which translated into a $50 million contract. But by walking away from the show, Chappelle missed out on the mega paycheque.

The Mass Late Night TV Exodus Of 2014 Continues With Craig Ferguson

Craig Ferguson David Letterman Stephen Colbert

Craig Ferguson is the latest in a line of late night TV hosts to announce his departure. Just weeks after Letterman announced his pending retirement to be replaced by Stephen Colbert and a few months after NBC’s game of late night musical chairs, Ferguson is stepping down as host of The Late Late Show. After logging 10 years on the job, Ferguson will cease his duties as Late Late Show host this December when his contract with CBS expires. The members of the studio audience at the taping of Monday’s show were the first ones to learn the news.

Craig Ferguson
The changes at CBS continue.

"CBS and I are not getting divorced, we are 'consciously uncoupling," Ferguson said, referencing Gwyneth Paltrow’s bizarre choice of words for her split with Chris Martin a few weeks ago. "But we will still spend holidays together and share custody of the fake horse and robot skeleton, both of whom we love very much."

Is Seth Meyers The Right Man For This Year's Emmy Awards?

Seth Meyers Jimmy Fallon David Letterman Conan O'Brien Neil Patrick Harris Jimmy Kimmel

Seth Meyers has been announced as the host of the 2015 Emmy awards this August. This caps off a great year for Meyers, who recently went from head writer for SNL and host of the show’s recurring Weekend Update segment to hosting his own late night show. Meyers took over NBC’s Late Night from Jimmy Fallon, after Fallon moved on to Tonight in the place of Jay Leno. It was a bit like a game of musical chairs over at NBC, but the white male hosts all managed to come out on top.

Seth Meyers
Seth Meyers is having a very successful year.

The Television academy confirmed Meyers’ appointment on Thursday, in keeping with the tradition of picking the host from the pool at the network, broadcasting the Emmys – in this case, NBC. The network will air the event, arguably the biggest night in television, on Monday, August 25. This schedule means that the Emmys take place in the last week before the new fall television season begins each year. The Emmy ceremony is typically broadcast on a Sunday, but this year, being broadcast on NBC, the Emmys would interfere with the NFL's “Sunday Night Football,” and so the Emmys are being moved to the next available date.

Stephen Colbert's 'Hobbit 2' Cameo Finally Revealed [Video]

Stephen Colbert's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug cameo has finally surfaced and has been shared online. Though many may have forgotten the Comedy Central star's Late Show with David Letterman admission in October that he'd scored a minor role in the movie, eagled-eyed fans of The Hobbit have finally spotted Colbert.

Stephen Colbert Made His Own Small Mark On The New 'Hobbit' Movie.

Though the 49 year-old political satirist's part is pretty underwhelming - he appears briefly as a hooded figure in a Laketown scene - Colbert can be forever proud that he was part of a franchise so huge and influential as Peter Jackson's. Stills from the scene show Stephen wearing a dark hooded outfit whilst grimacing, his face covered in grime; a far cry from the sharp suits and spectacles he usually dons.
