Actor David Oyelowo Has Signed On To Portray Botswana President Seretse Khama In A Racial Drama Opposite Gone Girls Star Rosamund Pike.
A United Kingdom will chronicle the real-life story of Khama's romance with Englishwoman Ruth Williams in 1948, which led to the couple's exile in 1951.
Oyelowo will serve as a producer, while Belle's Amma Asante will direct.
He says, "Amma and Rosamund are two of the most exciting talents working in film today. I've worked with both of them before and so my excitement about them joining A United Kingdom stems from a knowledge of just how inspiring they are to work with and how much daring and beauty they will bring to this epic love story."
Production is slated to begin in October (15).
