Executives at Universal are working on an as-yet-untitled movie based on Simmons' 2002 tome, Life and Def: Sex, Drugs, Money, + God, according to Deadline.com.

Reports suggest Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan and The Wolf Of Wall Street's Jonah Hill are the top picks to play Simmons and the label's other co-founder Rick Rubin in the biopic, respectively.

The duo formed Def Jam in 1983, and their impressive roster included legendary hip-hop stars such as Public Enemy, LL Cool J, and the Beastie Boys.
