Demi Lovato reportedly threw some serious shade Mariah Carey’s way on Thursday (June 16), in a series of now deleted (but of course screencapped) Instagram comments. Lovato was responding to a meme that negatively compared friend Ariana Grande to Mariah, causing her to bring up the pop diva’s rumoured feud with Jennifer Lopez.

The meme featured side-by-side images of Mariah and Ariana with a caption reading “When you order it online vs. when it arrives.” "You got it the wrong way around honey," Demi allegedly commented.

"Mariah is a legend and so talented but constantly disses people. It's nasty the way she treats Jennifer. Ari did nothing wrong.” Demi then incurred the wrath of Mariah’s fanbase, but still she didn't back down.

"This is why I posted what I did. Jen keeps it classy but I'm not afraid to say s--t. The woman is mean for no reason. Extremely talented? Yes. Superhuman? Possibly. Unnecessarily rude? Absolutely.”

Demi was referring to Mariah’s rumoured feud with Jennifer Lopez, which has been going on since the early 2000s. It all started when Mariah was once asked about J-Lo by a reporter and responded, "I don't know her.”

Last month Mariah addressed the rumoured feud, during an appearance on 'Watch What Happens Live’. “That was so long ago," she said. "I can't believe people still make such a big deal out of it." Carey then explained that yes of course she does know who Lopez is, she just doesn't know her personally.

"If I had never had a conversation with you and someone asked me about you, I'd be like, 'I don't know him, but he seems cool' or 'I don't know him’.” she continued. When then asked by Cohen if Lopez ‘seemed cool’, Carey then repeated, “I don’t know her. What am I suppose to say?"
