Denise Richards has been cast as Charlie Sheen's love interest on his new show Anger Management, US magazine reports. The on-screen pairing is particularly shocking, as Sheen and Richards were married for three years and have two daughters together. When she was asked about Sheen and his recent erratic behaviour, Denise was courteous and told the magazine's reporters "He's in a really good place. Everything is good. He's been very focused on our children and on his job." Denise and Charlie divorced in 2006 and this latest news looks as though enough water has passed under the bridge for them still to get along.
Richards has revealed that she joined in on a script reading last week and is looking forward to starting properly on the show, saying "I saw a sneak peek of the first episode and it's really funny," said Richards "I did a table read last week." The series, Anger Management is loosely based on the 2003 Jack Nicholson movie of the same name. Sheen will play the central character; his first role since his dramatic and highly publicized departure from the hit sitcom Two and a Half Men.
Richards and Sheen married in 2002 after they both starred in Good Advice and Scary Movie 3 together. They have two daughters together, Sam (b. 2004) and Lola (b. 2005). Richards filed for divorce in 2005. They briefly reconciled and attended marriage counseling sessions but in January 2006, she continued with the divorce and later sought a restraining order against her estranged husband.
