A video has been leaked showing an expletive-laden rant by American actor Dennis Quaid and is garnering a lot of social media attention, despite varied reports of verification and authenticity.

In the 44-second clip filmed on what appears to be a video phone, The Day After Tomorrow actor can be seen bursting into a verbal rage at an off-stage production crew member while he is trying to act out a scene.

Quaid shouts: "I am acting and this d*ckhead walks onto my set. I am doing my job here. I am a pro. This is the most unprofessional set I have ever been on."

The 61-year-old, whose latest venture is American biographical drama film, Truth, then goes off screen as he appears to move toward either the person his aggression is aimed at or the person filming the whole scene.

However, fans have come out to suggest that the truth of the very incident is unclear with some suggestion it is actually a staged skit.

One person who commented on the clip said: "It oozes fake," while another said: "Folks, it’s Jimmy Kimmel. Relax it’s all staged."

As yet there has been no comment from Quaid or his camp. The video can be viewed below but be warned, it’s contains some very extensive swearing and bad language.
