Diana Vickers will only perform if she's had chocolate to eat first.

The singer - who rose to fame in the UK on TV talent show 'The X Factor' in 2008 and is tipped to reach the nation's number one slot with her debut single 'Once' on Sunday (18.04.10) - has a modest rider, but requests a certain brand of chocolate, from manufacturer Cadbury for every show she plays.

Diana told The Metro newspaper: "I've had mountains of Dairy Milk on my rider. I love it. I've specified it has to be at every gig. As long as I have a nice bit of Dairy Milk, a kettle and some honey I'm all set to perform."

The 18-year-old singer said the most surreal fan encounter to date was when she was recognised when she recently stopped off at a remote cafe.

She added: "We were travelling in the middle of the night and I really needed a wee so we pulled over into this little hut café thing in the middle of nowhere. This woman said: 'Oh my god, it's Diana Vickers.' It was weird. It was just her and this old man miles from anywhere."

Since becoming famous, Diana said she's only made two extravagant purchases - and hasn't even had time to use one of them yet.

She added: "I bought a Stella Mccartney dress and a treadmill. The dress is beautiful, long and white and very elegant. Sadly, the treadmill is just sitting in a corner gathering dust."
