The theme from hit '80s children's animation DuckTales has been turned into a slow and smooth R&B jam by the good people of Postmodern Jukebox, who notably gave Ke$ha and Pitbull's 'Timber' a toe-tapping doo-wop makeover.

Why, you ask? The concept is pretty random but the song is a veritable earworm that will have you shaking your hips in time with the slap bass.

The new version includes duck calls, a scat breakdown, a luxury slap bassline and even a straight-outta-'89 ewi solo. Fans of the group's channel will recognise the line-up from last week's cover of the Pokémon theme song.

Hear Postmodern Jukebox's DuckTales Cover:

The lead singer, who is identified as "Pow!Grrl" in the credits delivers a soulful rendition of Jeff Pescetto's funky and playful lyrics. "Life is like a hurricane/Here in Duckburg/Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes/It's a duck-blur" she sings as the band deliver a cheese-laden, sensually smooth jam evocative of late eighties movie soundtracks.

The cover has us feeling all nostalgic for the time when Disney cartoons ruled the airwaves and the beloved DuckTales took centre-stage, featuring the adventures of memorable characters like Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad McQuack and Huey, Dewey and Louie.

Hear The Original 'DuckTales' Theme:

The Disney show's criminally short run began in September 1987 and ended in November 1990 with spin-off movie DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp, released in 1990. Alan Young played the Scottish Scrooge McDuck with Russi Taylor and Terrence McGovern also providing voices.

Saturday Morning Slow Jams is the creation of Scott Bradlee, whose collective also covers popular music and pop culture in an array of inspired and thought-provoking styles. Other examples include a "smooth" version of the Game of Thrones theme song and a Mariachi take on Avicii's chart-topper "Wake Me Up."

What should the group cover next?
