Run-DMC's Darryl McDaniels wears his adidas trainers at funerals.

The 'My adidas' rapper and 80s icon is so dedicated to his favourite brand of trainers - which his group made famous by wearing without laces - he wears them every day, no matter what he's doing.

He told BANG Showbiz: ''Weddings man, hell even funerals. I wear my adidas every day. I'll wear my adidas at any occasion, weddings, bar mitzvahs, anywhere.''

DMC was without his rapping partner MC Run as he attended the opening of the adidas #Spezial exhibition in Shoreditch, London, yesterday (18.07.13) - where 300 iconic trainers are on display including special editions made for Run DMC - but the event also saw Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie and The Stone Roses' Ian Brown attend.

DMC also said there are no plans to continue performing as Run-DMC after the sad passing of DJ Jam Master Jay - who was shot and killed in the studio in 2002 - as it ''wouldn't be right''.

DMC now has a solo career, and has released a single, 'Attention Please' with Pauley Perrette last year.

The adidas #Spezial exhibition launched at Hoxton Gallery, Shoreditch yesterday (18.09.13). The gallery is open to the public 12:00 - 19:00 daily from July 19-27, entry is free.
