Troubled rapper DMX has been arrested in South Carolina after the truck he was a passenger in got pulled by cops for performing an illegal U-turn. The AP reports that the 42 year-old was in the vehicle that got pulled over and was arrested when police realised he had an outstanding warrant for driving under suspension. According to Lt. Jim Holcombe, marijuana was also found in the truck leading to both DMX, AKA Earl Simmons, and the driver being charged with simple possession.

This isn't the first drugs or driving offence that Simmons has committed, it's just one incident in many since the 90s that has seen 'Dark Man X' come under the scrutiny of the law for his questionable actions. In 1999, he and his wife, Tashera Simmons were arrested and charged with animal cruelty and both weapon and crack cocaine possession.

In 2000, he served a 15 day jail sentence for marijuana possession; a crime along with animal cruelty that he has been arrested for several times again since leaving jail. In 2010 he was sentenced to another 90 days in jail for reckless driving and was arrested for the same offence in 2011 having reportedly been seen driving at 102mph in a 65mph zone without a licence, although he disputed the recorded speed.

This year, DMX has now been arrested three times: once for driving without a licence in January, again in July for DUI and no licence and his latest arrest on Tuesday (20th Aug) night. It is not known whether Simmons has an attorney. The New York-born rapper/actor became famous after he released the track 'Party Up (Up In Here)' in 1999 and has sold 30 million records to date.

DMX Arrested
Looks Like There'll Be More Jail Time On The Horizon.

TMZ claim to have received information that the performer is currently under house arrest having been released from jail and apparently says he was unaware that there was weed in the vehicle, despite the bag being found in the door next to him. The police report supposedly states that Simmons became "very aggressive with his words and was making multiple idle threats" and suffered what was believed to be a slight asthma attack, requiring paramedics' help.

DMX is likely to serve 15 days in jail and has not publically commented on the incident.
