The troubled hip-hip star was ordered to spend six months in jail for failing to keep up with child support payments.

He was handed the sentence in July (15), and he walked free last week (ends27Sep15).

DMX, real name Earl Simmons, made a return to performing just five days later by taking to the stage at an event in New York City on Wednesday (30Sep15).

The Get It On The Floor star performed at a sports bar in Manhattan, Bounce Sporting Club, to mark the venue's fourth anniversary.

He played hits including Ruff Ryders' Anthem and What These B**ches Want.

Orange is the New Black actress Taryn Manning also performed a DJ set at the bash.

She documented the party in a series of posts on her Instagram.com page.

Taryn shared snaps of herself on the decks, writing, "Happy Anniversary @bouncesportingclub!... 4th anniversary party tonight! #bouncebirthday #bouncewithus (sic)."

DMX's drama kicked off in June (15) when he was arrested in New York City shortly before he was due to play a gig at Radio City Music Hall.

The father-of-12 was accused of failing to hand over $400,000 (£250,000) in child support, prompting a judge at a family court to issue an arrest warrant.

He was handed the jail sentence by a judge in Buffalo, New York and he missed a performance at the Shaggfest 2015 festival in Virginia Beach, Virginia after being locked up.
