Dolly Parton rumours have flooded the Internet recently, and in case you didn't know, they fixated on her sexuality, as so many do these days. First off; no one should care if someone's gay or straight, as it has no bearing on what made them famous in the first place, and secondly, Dolly Parton has nullified these rumours in an interview.

The rumours alleged that Parton enjoyed a sexual relationship with one of her oldest friends, Judy Ogle. "Judy and I have been best friends since we were, like, in third and fourth grade," Parton, who has been married to her husband, Carl Dean, for 46 years, explained during the sitdown with ABC's Juju Chang. "I mean, I love her as much as I love anybody in the whole world. But we're not romantically involved." She went on to joke about how her and Oprah Winfrey - who was also subject to similar rumours because of her close friendship with Gayle King - couldn't have female buddies without being labelled as lesbian in the press. To be fair to her, it is a little ridiculous.

During the interview, Parton also amusingly noted that she once entered herself in a Dolly Parton drag queen contest and got the least applause of any of the contestants. "They just thought I was some little short gay guy," she laughed.
