In the wake of especially strong buzz from critics who have seen the film, the cast of  assembled for their world premiere in Los Angeles this week, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Glenn Close, Karen Gillan and Michael Rooker. They then dashed across to London for a Leicester Square premiere, where they were joined by Disney/Marvel colleagues Mark Hamill and Chris Hemsworth, plus Diesel's Fast & Furious costar Elsa Pataky. Luc Besson's new action romp Lucy opens today in the US and next month in the UK. In a new short feature, Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman give a backstage look at working with Besson on the movie, including glimpses of the crew filming elaborate action scenes. The MTV Movie Award nominations have been announced and you know what? It’s so refreshing to see some different movies thrown into the mix! The MTV Movie Awards don’t take themselves quite as seriously as the Academy Awards or the BAFTAS, taking pop culture into account just as much as a good performance. The Hunger Games at Comic Con gave fans a chance to catch a glimpse of the new cast, but most importantly, it marked the release of the new trailer so we can finally take a proper look at the second instalment of the thrilling trilogy. Check it out below (right at the bottom).

Jennifer Lawrence in Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Based on the novels of Suzanne Collins, the trilogy consists of The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. It tells the story of 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) who takes the place of her younger sister Prim in the 74th Hunger Games – a form of entertainment for the Capitol, which sees contestants fight to the death.

Jennifer Lawrence was greeted by wild screams as she and cast mates took to the Comic-Con stage to tell fans about their new movie; the sequel to 2012's The Hunger Games that saw her character Katniss Everdeen compete in and jointly win a televised battle top the death in post-apocalyptic nation, 'Panem.' Speaking about her character Everdeen's evolution from the first film, Lawrence explained, "She's struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder after the games while living in Victor's Village, where she never wants for food, and feels useless. She's adapting to a new life."

Despite the dark tone of Suzanne Collins' novels and adapted movies, the mood was jovial amongst The Hunger Games Comic-Con panel, as the stars bantered with each other and exchanged funny stories from filming. "The kissing scenes are going to be really hot, if you're into snot," laughed Lawrence, as she described how a resuscitation scene between her and co-star Josh Hutcherson got sticky: "There was all this snot coming out of my nose and when I had to kiss Josh it went in his mouth and then I coughed and I wobbled it," as reported by The Guardian.

Katniss Is Enemy No.1 In Hunger Games: Catching Fire

The first full trailer for the Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire has been released, debuting at the MTV Movie awards on Sunday (April 14, 2013). Recent Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence once again takes center stage as Katniss Everdeen, the winner of the brutal fight to the death who appears to have become a sign of hope for the rest of society.

The shadowy Capitol is less than pleased with the fanfare surrounding Katniss' return from the Hunger Games arena and want her removed. "She has become a beacon of hope for them, she has to be eliminated," says Donald Sutherland's President Snow, before Philip Seymour Hoffman's Plutarch Heavensbee adds, "I agree she should die, but in the right way, at the right time. Katniss Everdeen is a symbol, just her image. Show them she is one of us now, let them rally behind that."

Following a recent episode of 'Commander in Chief''s depiction of particular city, ABC has come under fire from the city's residents. ABC was forced to apologise to the citizens of Hyattsville, Maryland, a suburb of Washington DC in Prince George County, after the episode in question took certain liberties with the crime rates in the area. 

Geena Davis plays President Mackenzie Allen in 'Commander in Chief'

The episode depicted Hyattsville as a crime-ridden place, with one character mentioning that 11 homicides had occurred in the area of Hyattsville in the past six months. But, unsurprisingly, the area took issues with this. Jim Keary, a spokesman for the County Executive Jack. B. Johnson, told the Associated Press: "We haven't had 11 homicides in Hyattsville in the past 10 years".
