First Lady left 'shaken to the core' by Trump's disgusting sexist comments.
Michelle Obama hit the Hillary Clinton campaign rally in Manchester, New Hampshire yesterday (October 13th 2016) to encourage people to go out and vote for the Democratic presidential candidate. But while she was there, she took the time to speak some truth about Donald Trump's misogynistic comments.
Donald Trump is taken down by Michelle Obama
Choking back tears of rage, the First Lady of the United States took to the stand and opened up about how she has been affected by revelations that a presidential candidate not only has outdated and sexist opinions, but that he has in the past routinely boasted about being 'allowed' to treat women any way he chooses. She opened her powerful speech by talking about how she celebrated the International Day of the Girl on Tuesday (October 11th 2016) by talking to girls about their value in society.
'I had the pleasure of spending hours talking to some of the most amazing young women you will ever meet, young girls here in the US and all around the world', she said. 'See, because many of these girls have faced unthinkable obstacles just to attend school. Jeopardizing their personal safety, their freedom. Risking the rejection of their families and communities. So I thought it would be important to remind these young women how valuable and precious they are.'
Unfortunately, her euphoria was soon dissipated by an audio leak in the media of Donald Trump making shockingly lewd comments about women to Access Hollywood's Billy Bush in 2005. 'We have a candidate for President of the United States who over the course of his lifetime and over the course of this campaign has said things about women that are so shocking, so demeaning, I simply will not repeat anything here today', she said. 'And last week we saw this candidate actually bragging about sexually assaulting women. And I can't believe that I'm saying that. A candidate for President of the United States has bragged about sexually assaulting women. I have to tell you that I can't stop thinking about this. It has shaken me to my core in a way that I couldn't have predicted.'

She went on to insist that we address this issue now, and not just brush it off - like Trump has - as just 'locker room banter'. 'This is not something that we can ignore. It's not something we can just sweep under the rug as just another disturbing footnote in a sad election season', she continued. 'This was a powerful individual speaking freely and openly about sexually predatory behaviour and actually bragging about kissing and groping women using language so obscene that many of us were worried about our children hearing it when we turn on the TV.'
And while some people might think that this is just the way it goes in politics, Obama doesn't think so. 'This is not normal. This is not politics as usual. This is disgraceful, it is intolerable', she added. 'This isn't about politics. It's about basic human decency... I can tell you that the men in my life do not talk about women like this and I know that my family is not unusual. And to dismiss this as everyday locker room talk is an insult to decent men everywhere.'
Explaining her worries about how Trump's comments could effect children, she told a rather interesting story about a 6-year-old boy who told his parents why he thinks Trump shouldn't be president. 'They were watching the news together and the little boy, out of the blue, said, 'I think Hillary Clinton will be president'', she said. 'His mom said, 'Well, why do you say that?' and this little 6-year-old said, 'Because the other guy called someone a piggy'. And he said, 'You cannot be president if you call someone a piggy'. So even a 6-year-old knows better.'
Election Day is on November 28th 2016.
