It really seems like nobody was expecting a victory for Donald Trump in the presidential election, include the writers of 'South Park'. The latest episode of the show was actually re-written within hours of Trump's win, because their original script appeared to predict that Hillary Clinton would be elected.

It's a testament to just how organised and up-to-date the creators of 'South Park' are that they managed to re-write an entire episode hours before it was due to air on Comedy Central yesterday (November 9th 2016). The episode was entitled 'Oh Jeez', and a clip from the show shared the sentiment - courtesy of Randy Marsh - that 'women can be anything, except for president'.

Originally, the show was going to be called 'The Very First Gentleman', referring to the fact that Bill Clinton would obviously not be called a First Lady if his wife won the presidency and would instead become the nation's first First Gentleman. Unfortunately, no such event took place and Trey Parker and Matt Stone had quite the job re-doing the whole show at the eleventh hour in a bid to stay relevant and up-to-the-minute.

This isn't the first time Parker and Stone had to cut it fine with their show deadlines. When Barack Obama won the election in 2008, 'South Park' episode 'About Last Night...' landed in Comedy Central's lap less than 24 hours after the event. Generally, it takes six days to write and produce an episode of the cartoon parody show; a pressure that has seen its fair share of issues over the years.

Luckily, 'Oh Jeez' didn't need much in the way of visual editing because the animation style is so basic i.e. with the way that the characters' mouths are moving, they could be saying anything. Now all that's left is to await a well-deserved Emmy nomination.
