Donatella Versace held her brand's Autumn-Winter 2012-13 show at the Ritz in Paris last night (01.07.12), in honour of her late brother.

The hotel was the location Donatella's brother, Versace founder Gianni, staged his last ever show before he was murdered in 1997.

The show kicked off the French capital's Haute Couture Ball, which will see another 24 collections staged before Wednesday (03.07.12).

Donatella said she drew inspiration from Tarot cards for the designs, which featured abstract prints of suns, moons and lovers on billowing chiffon evening gowns and strapless mini dresses of silk satin, overlaid with plastic and sliced into fine horizontal strips.

Further shows will be staged by CHANEL, Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy and Dior, whose new designer Raf Simons is making his hotly-awaited debut later today (02.07.12).

Meanwhile, Donatella is reportedly planning a new men's fragrance, to be called Eros.

The scent - named after the Greek god of love - is expected to be released this autumn, and introduced with a campaign featuring a number of hunky gladiators.

A source told WWD a ''wet and wild'' advertising image has already been shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, with art direction by Giovanni Bianco, who is known for his work with Madonna.
