Dr Dre is reportedly set to star in his own semi-autobiographical series made by Apple. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Apple is developing its first original television show, which will star the rap mogul, with the details so far being kept top-secret.

Sources told THR that the scripted series will star Dre who will also executive produce. It will consist of six episodes and production is being bankrolled by Apple. It's most likely that Apple will distribute the show via Apple Music but it's not clear if Apple TV, the iTunes store or other Apple platforms will also carry it.

‘Vital Signs’ is described as semi-autobiographical, with each episode focusing on a different emotion and how Dre’s character deals with it. Sam Rockwell and Mo McCrae are also said to be among the cast members.

Far from being a comedy, the show is thought to be a ‘dark drama with no shortage of violence and sex’. One episode, which was reportedly filmed earlier this week, is said to feature ‘an extended orgy scene’, which took place in a Hollywood mansion.

The series will be helmed by veteran music video director Paul Hunter, who will also produce under his Eye Candy banner alongside Aaron Ginsburg and William Green. All six episodes of the first season have been written by 'Empire' co-exec producer and writer Robert Munic, who was hand-picked by Dre himself, according to THR.
