With his newest album Views having sold a million copies in a little over a week and his new status the most streamed artist in Spotify history, it’s safe to say that Drake is pretty flushed with cash at the moment.

Now, according to new reports, he’s planning to shell out a substantial amount of his fortune on his dream home, refurbishing a multi-million dollar property that he purchased in the upmarket Bridle Path region of his hometown Toronto.

DrakeStunning architechtural plans for Drake's dream mansion in Toronto have been uncovered

The Canadian rap star spoke briefly about his vision for the massive property, which he bought for $6.7 Canadian dollars in September 2015, in an interview with Zane Lowe last month, but an investigation by The Globe And Mail has turned up architectural plans for the sprawling 21,000 square feet, two-storey mansion.

The eye-watering plans, put together by Ferris Rafauli who designed his private club in Toronto’s Air Canada Centre, include: a full NBA basketball court, a gym, basement and outdoor swimming pools, a rooftop terrace with a hot tub, a bar and snack area, a music and screening room, plus a jersey museum for his collection of sports memorabilia.

When he eventually moves into the well-heeled area, Drake’s future neighbours will include the likes of Conrad Black and Gordon Lightfoot. He also owns a sizeable property in Calabasas, California - the same neighbourhood as fellow rap god Kanye West.

However, if executed in full, the plans will violate a handful of city planning byelaws. For instance, the maximum permitted height of buildings in Bridle Path is 11 meters, while Drake’s house will stand at 17 meters.

To that end, a meeting with the North York committee of adjustments is due to be held on May 26th, at which the builders will attempt to gain a number of minor variances and concessions to help put the rapper’s dream home in place.
