Drake has released a brand new short film yesterday (September 25th 2016) following the number one success of his fourth studio album 'Views'. At 23 minutes long, the clip is entitled 'Please Forgive Me' and is now available exclusively on Apple Music.

The film has been co-directed by Anthony Mandler - the same guy behind the Canadian rapper's 'Over', 'Miss Me' and 'Fancy' videos, as well as Jay Z's 'Holy Grail', Nicki Minaj's 'Starships' and Rihanna's 'Diamonds' - and co-stars dancehall artist Popcaan, Belgian model Fanny Neguesha, Soni Chidiebere and house singer Kyla Reid. Drake is in the lead role, of course. It has been released four days ahead of it's originally planned September 30th launch date. Mandler also co-wrote the script with Apple Music Head of Content Larry Jackson.

Inspired by such plotlines as 'Indecent Proposal', 'The Bourne Identity' and 'Taken', the film features seven songs from 'Views' and further music from producer Noah '40' Shebib. According to Billboard, it was filmed over the course of just one week earlier this year in Soweto in the city of Johannesburg in South Africa.

Drake's fourth album 'Views' came out in April earlier this year and topped the Billboard 200 chart for twelve weeks upon its release. Featuring the number one single 'One Dance' with Wizkid and Kyla, the album has sold over 1.4 million copies domestically. It also included the songs 'Too Good' featuring Rihanna, 'Controlla', and 'Pop Style' featuring The Throne.

'Please Forgive Me' isn't Drake's first movie short. Back in 2015, he release the 14-minute video 'Jungle' as a preview to his mixtape 'If You're Reading This, It's Too Late'. His only other videos from the 'Views' album were for the song 'Child's Play' and bonus track 'Hotline Bling'.

Drake performed at the iHeartRadio Music Festival over the weekend, having just completed his Summer Sixteen Tour with Future.
