Taylor Swift and Drake have decided to have a little fun with the recent rumours that they’re dating, with each of them toying with their fans on social media this week.

Canadian rapper Drake teased his followers on Instagram on Friday morning (November 4th) by posting a snap of him and Taylor from behind, dressed up smartly, as if they were going out on the town, with Drake captioning it “is that velvet?” – a reference to Eddie Murphy’s film Coming To America.

However, the picture was actually taken at Drake’s 30th birthday party nearly a fortnight ago, which incidentally the point at which the rumours started.

Rumours of a potential romance between the pair were sparked last week as the rapper was spotted introducing Taylor to his mother, Sandi Graham, and his friends at his birthday last week according to TMZ. However, insiders have dismissed this suggestion, saying that Drake was merely ensuring she met his entourage as she’s not a regular within their group.

That came after the rapper had professed his love for the Barbadian singer as he presented her with her lifetime achievement Video Vanguard award, even buying up a huge billboard space in Los Angeles just to congratulate the singer.

Swift, for her part, broke up with English actor Tom Hiddleston a few months ago, after dating in a whirlwind romance that last for the summer. She previously dated superstar DJ Calvin Harris for 15 months up until that point.
