Heavy rockers Dream Theater are set to perform a unique gig at the Boston Opera House in March (14) after inviting students from the band's alma mater in Massachusetts to join them onstage.

Guitarist John Petrucci, bassist John Myung and former drummer Mike Portnoy all met while attending the Berklee College of Music and formed the group in 1985 under the name of Majesty.

Now Petrucci and Myung are set to stage a homecoming show at the Boston Opera House, where they will be joined by the 17-piece Berklee World Strings orchestra and the Berklee Concert Choir.

Portnoy quit the line-up in 2010, but his replacement, Mike Mangini, also has his own link to Berklee - he served as an associate professor there for a decade before joining Dream Theater.
