Triple 9 Trailer

Terrell Tompkins and his team of officers are corrupt, finding ways to embellish their wage has turned into a habit that's about to land them in a lot of trouble. When a powerful member of the Russian mafia learns of Tompkins' money making ways, she blackmails him and his team into pulling a heist for her. Fearing they'll be exposed, the gang carry out the job for Irene, a woman who might look glamourous but has a dark soul. Once the job's complete, the crew believe they're in the clear but savvy Sergeant Detective Jeffrey Allen has been put on the case and he soon discovers that there's probably more to the robbery than first thought.

That's not the only problem facing Tompkins, Irene tracks the cop down and requests another job - if refused Irene won't hesitate in taking their lives. This job is far bigger than the last and is an almost impossible mission. Feeling their only option is to distract all the cops in their district, the team come up with a plan to pull a Triple 9 call - police code for 'officer down'. However, with Sergeant Detective Allen constantly uncovering more information and being faced with the ordeal of killing one of their own, the job will be far from straight forward.

Triple 9 is directed by John Hillcoat who also directed 2012's Lawless starring Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy & the film adaptation of The Road starring Viggo Mortensen.

The 5th Wave Trailer

Cassie Sullivan is only 16-years-old but her fighting spirit and courage has left her as one of the only survivors on a demolished Earth. The world has been taken over by alien forces known only as The Others, and they have launched a strategic attack on the planet in order to gain ownership. First came the darkness as the mothership wiped all power from the globe; the second wave brought total devastation in the cities, flooding everything in sight; and with the third wave came an airborne infection so deadly it took out whole nations in months. It wasn't long before they launched their invasion, killing any survivors and possessing human beings as hosts to walk among people in secret. Now what's left of the world is preparing for what may be the most apocalyptic wave of all, but the strongest people have survived and they're not ready to give up their home just yet. Cassie knows to trust no-one, but when she meets another apparent survivor, she knows she has to put her faith in him if she wants to find her missing brother.

The Equalizer - Featurette and Clip

Director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, Olympus Has Fallen) talks about what makes The Equalizer (Denzel Washington) different from other action movie heroes. The name comes from how he spends his days as a "regular Joe", but uses hand-to-hand combat in order to fight his way through legions of bad guys "levelling the playing field". Producer Todd Black (A Knight's Tale, The Pursuit of Happiness) goes on to explain The Equalizer's skill set. He uses impeccable awareness of his surroundings to manipulate his environment into a weapon - this leads to stunt coordinator Keith Woulard discussing Washington's desire to make the fight scenes "dirty and gritty, but he want[ed] it smart".

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Trailer

After becoming the first duo to win the annual Hunger Games following its 74th year, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark have spread hope among the people of Panem who now feel the possibility of a revolution. However, the Capitol realise how dangerous this could be for their ordered, totalitarian society and force them to compete once again, alongside 22 other previous winners in the The Quarter Quell - an event that happens every 25th years and allows the Capitol to invent a new twist for the year's Games. It is due to be released in cinemas everywhere on November 21st 2013.

The Spectacular Now Trailer

Sutter Keely thinks he has the perfect life; he's a high-school student with a car, a job he loves, a gorgeous girlfriend and the ability to make friends wherever he goes. Rather than thinking about his future and what graduation will bring, he's perfectly contented to take each day as it comes. It only becomes a curse when his girlfriend dumps him, but things take a different turn in his life when he wakes up after a particularly alcohol-fuelled night only to find himself in someone else's yard with a concerned looking Aimee Finicky next to him. Aimee's the good girl, who's never had a boyfriend and puts her focus on her future. Sutter finds himself falling in love and coming round to the idea of a quiet life, but thinking about the future has made him wonder if he should factor in Aimee's at all.

The Last Exorcism Part II Review

Good

When you qualify your movie as the "last" anything, a sequel seems a bit out of the question, but these new filmmakers have essentially relegated the 2010 original to a mere backstory. They have moved on from the video-cam format and the whole debunking premise to make a much more straightforward horror romp. And while it's packed with cliches, it heads full-speed into a final act that's jaw-droppingly bonkers enough to make this a guilty pleasure.

After the carnage of that farmhouse exorcism, Nell (Bell) is the only survivor. She's taken to a New Orleans halfway house with other battered women, who begin to teach her how to live her life after growing up in isolation. She still has a sense of her religious roots, but learns to enjoy pop music and even starts flirting with a cute handyman (Clark). Even though she wants to believe that her demon-possession wasn't real, it becomes apparent that maybe that previous exorcism didn't quite take. "A piece of him is still inside you," says an occult expert (Jensen), completely without irony. Indeed the demon is back with a vengeance, and he has something awful in mind.

Filmmaker Gass-Donnelly keeps the atmosphere tense, throwing in elements from every horror film in recent memory, including creepy masked figures, staticky broadcasts, insidious phone calls, buzzing houseflies and even a sassy psychic (Riggs). The soundtrack is full of creep-out noises, while the images are intercut with flickers of the previous film. But all of this is done in that bland Hollywood style that makes us jump without actually freaking us out. Thankfully, the film has Bell on board to deliver a performance much better than the movie deserves: she's genuinely unsettling as the tormented innocent.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - Teaser Trailer

Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark have become symbols of hope to the people of the dystopic Panem after becoming the first pair to win the 74th Annual Hunger Games in a brutal battle to the death between two teenagers of each of the 12 famished districts. Now is the time they must leave their families to tackle a 'Victor's Tour' of each district. However, the President sees her as a threat to their capitalist society and vows to have her killed, but first to make the people of every district turn against her. Rebellion appears to be arising among the people and Katniss just wants to get through the tour safely. But with the 75th Games approaching, known as The Quarter Quell, the Capitol decide to introduce the biggest twist the Games have ever seen; a twist that will completely transform their nation.
