The sisters are exiting Albert Square in the New Year, but has the door been closed on a comeback?
Last month ‘Eastenders’ stars Samantha Womack and Rita Simons confirmed they would be leaving the BBC soap after 10 years playing sisters Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell. Fans had hoped that the twosome would be saying a ‘see you later’ rather than a ‘goodbye forever’, but according to The Sun, the Mitchell sisters are set to be gone for good.

A source told the newspaper that the sisters are to die in an explosive storyline during the soap’s New Year’s Eve special. The decision is said to have infuriated the cast, who are complaining that they were not consulted.
Dyer has held down the regular role of Mick Carter, the landlord of the Queen Vic, since 2013, but has revealed that his career was in ruins before that.
He was one of the most ubiquitous faces of British film and television during the mid-noughties, but Danny Dyer has revealed the “desperate” financial situation he was in before the BBC offered him a part on ‘Eastenders’ in 2013.
The 38 year old actor, who plays the pub landlord Mick Carter on the long-running soap, appeared on ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ this week and revealed that he was on the verge of financial meltdown when he was offered the part.

Riley Carter Millington will be making his Albert Square debut in the role of Kyle later in October.
The BBC has made a piece of television history by becoming the first British station to cast a transgender actor in a transgender role in a soap opera. The long-running ‘Eastenders’ has cast 21 year old Riley Carter Millington in the role of Kyle, who will hit screens later in October with a view to becoming a regular character by the end of 2015.
While this is not the first time that a transgender character has appeared in a British, it does represent the first time that a transgender actor will portray a transgender character.

Dyer, star of many gritty British films during the noughties, has unsuccessfully auditioned for 'Game of Thrones' three times.
It may be a vehicle for a great deal of British acting talent, but ‘Game of Thrones’ is apparently unwilling to accommodate Danny Dyer. The ‘Eastenders’ star has apparently auditioned for the HBO smash series on three separate occasions, only to be rejected.
Dyer revealed during a recording of ITV’s ‘Jonathan Ross Show’ “I’ve been up for it three times, I got three knockbacks”. Dame Diana Rigg, another guest on Ross’ show and who plays Lady Olenna Tyrell in ‘Game of Thrones’, said “I’ll put in a word for you as long as you lose the cockney accent.”

Watchdog claims the popular sitcom is still too far away from a realistic representation
In a bid to convey the lack of Black, Asian and minority ethnic representation in Eastenders, The BBC's audience council in England compared the population of Walthamstow in east London with Walford, the fictional home of EastEnders.
Danny Dyer recently joined the Eastenders cast
The conclusion: the British soap is "almost twice" as white as real life London, prompting the latest criticism of the BBC’s effort to realistically convey the U.K’s demographics realistically.
