Ed Sheeran was inspired to play the guitar by Eric Clapton.
The 'Lego House' singer - who won two Brit Awards at last night's (21.02.12) ceremony - says he decided to learn to play the musical instrument after seeing the 'Wonderful Tonight' hitmaker perform at Britain's Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee celebrations at Buckingham Palace in 2002.
Ed - who will be playing at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations this summer - said: ''I'm playing the Queen's Jubilee, which I'm really looking forward to. I actually started playing guitar after her last jubilee, I saw Eric Clapton play and I said, 'I want to play guitar', so yeah, it's going to be brilliant to go and do that.''
The 21-year-old star was named Best British Male and Best British Breakthrough at the star-studded ceremony and while he was disappointed he didn't take home Best Album, he knows Adele was the deserved winner.
He told Absolute Radio: ''Any act would want the Best Album, but I think every single act tonight who is up against Adele needs to just accept that this is Adele's year and she is going to take the awards.''
