Along with the world premiere of the film, Leicester Square also hosted a special performance by Ed Sheeran, which was subsequently broadcast in theatres throughout the world. The movie is coming to the general public this weekend, giving UK audiences who were unfortunate enough to miss him live their first glimpse into his x Tour; and, even better, their first glimpse into his biggest ever show. Not only that, but the film also documents his life on the road; a familiar place for Sheeran, who sofa-hopped throughout the country in the early days of his career.

During his Wembley Stadium run (which lasted three nights, due to popular demand), he gave 80,000 fans stunning performances of his most loved hits such as 'The A Team', 'Sing' and 'Thinking Out Loud', as well as introducing Elton John to the stage for a surprise collaborative jam. What more could you want from a first headline stadium show?

'Can I tell you a little secret? Every wish I have made in the last five years has come true. My wish last year was to play at Wembley', he tells the camera crew whilst cutting his guitar-shaped birthday cake in the trailer for 'Jumpers For Goalposts'. With respect, Mr. Sheeran, having sold 10 million copies of your second album 'X' so far, you can pretty much have anything you want.

Sheeran is well known for his humble demeanour and openness about his ordinary beginnings living in Suffolk, so it's no surprise that he'd give his film a name like 'Jumpers For Goalposts' - referring to the popular technique of school children using their outer garments to mark the scoring area while playing football in the park. Though he admits that he named it so because 'we keep moving them'.

The movie has been directed by Paul Dugdale, who previously worked on film releases for One Direction's 'Where We Are - The Concert Film', and The Rolling Stones' 'Sweet Summer Sun - Hyde Park Live'.

'Jumpers for Goalposts' will hit UK cinemas on October 24th, 25th and 26th 2015.
