Ed Sheeran gave one fan the "most incredible experience of her life" over the weekend, when he joined her onstage for a duet of his hit ‘Thinking Out Loud’. Sydney Bourbeau had been performing the song at the West Edmonton Mall as part of a fundraising concert for the Edmonton Humane Society, when she was joined onstage by the man himself who happened to be in the vicinity.

"I had just finished taking my microphone out of the stand, so I thought someone was just coming up to grab the stand or fix something", Bourbeau told E! News.

"I realized it was him after he came up the stairs on the stage, and I freaked! He came over and hugged me and I wanted to just cry and talk to him, but I realized he wanted to come sing his song with me!”

"I'm sure it looked like I was fine, but I was shaking and my heart was beating so fast it was crazy! I was so nervous especially when he left because I was like, 'No! Don't leave!” she continued. After they finished the song. Sheeran hugged the 13 year old and made a swift exit from the stage. 

”I ran after him as soon as it was over but I couldn't find him," Borbeau added. The teen said she’d been a fan of Sheeran since his 2011 debut album and lists ‘Thinking Out Loud’, ‘Grade 8’ and 'Lego House' as some of her favourite tracks.

Now that the video of the performance has gone viral, Bourbeau, whose ambition is to become a singer, has had a little taste of fame herself. ”It's all very crazy and overwhelming, but it's so fun and everyone around me is so supportive and happy for me," she said. "It's a once in a lifetime experience and I'm having the time of my life.”
