It's been 20 years in the making, but Beverly Hills Cop IIII is coming in 2016 and Eddie Murphy will be back.
It’s been 20 years since we’ve seen Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop and for almost as long we’ve been hearing about the rumoured fourth movie. Finally, we now have an official date for Foley getting back on the beat, March 25, 2016, studio Paramount has confirmed.
Eddie Murphy is bringing Axel Foley back
This one has been in development hell for what’s felt like an eternity, with at one point a TV show being looked at, though that idea was passed on last year.
It's not necessarily a good thing, but it's nice to win, surely.
What we’ve assumed was true for a long time has now been confirmed: Adam Sandler is the most overpaid actor in the world, yielding the least amount of cash for the money he earns. Forbes, who did the maths and put everything into a handy list for everyone to peruse, bestowed the unwanted gong upon Hollywood's so called funnyman. But don’t worry there’s no awards ceremony for an achievement like this, just sarcastic news stories, a few memes and a big bag of Cheese Puffs for the list's #1.
'Hey Sandler! you stink!' someone might have said once
So let’s look at some numbers: his last three films returned an average of $3.40 for every $1 he was paid. Last year, Natalie Portman earned $42.70 per dollar according to Forbes' most profitable actors list, just to give you some context.
A 'Coming to America' sequel? Will it ever happen?
Murphy dropped by Hall's late-night talk show on Tuesday night and discussed the milestone anniversary, in which the host played Akeem's sidekick Semmi.
"I don't know if they say this to you, they say it to me because they know I need to money, but a lot of people say why was there never a Coming to America sequel?" Hall asked Murphy.

The highest grossing actor of all time is in line for an Oscar this year, who is it?
As we approach winter, Oscars season is in full swing, with convincing predictions and hypothesis available for each and every film, actor and director in contention for any category you can think of. The frontrunners for those coveted golden statuettes include Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett, Chiwetel Ejiofor, George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Matthew McConaughey, Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep.
Tom Hanks is Captain Phillips
It’s a fine list of names, for sure. And it’s basically a given that most people would love to swap shoes with any of the aforementioned actors who we consider to be in line for at least nominations - if not a few trips to the stage - when the Oscars are handed out in March 2014.

Murphy uses his inaugural tweet to share the new Snoop collaboration track.
Snoop Dogg may be famed for for his fantabul-izzle rap skills but it seems he's turned his full attention to the rhythmic rolls of reggae for a brand new song with actor Eddie Murphy. Under the moniker 'Snoop Lion,' Snoop released a reggae album earlier this year and he has featured on Murphy's upcoming album, 9, contributing a few lines towards the end of the song in his unmistakeable drawl.
Snoop Dogg/Lion Has Teamed Up With Eddie Murphy.
The music artist and the actor - although both men have been known to switch these roles - have collaborated in a brand new catchy jam with a bouncy steel drum beat and some classic "woy oy oy"s. "Out of the frying pan/into the fire/burning down the people's souls," sings Murphy alongside the repeated refrain of "Red light/star bright/there where you are." After just one play of the lead track from 9, you'll find it hard to stop yourself from singing along.

Raven Symone may have revealed she is gay by commenting on more US states legalizing gay marriage. Her remark on Twitter in support of the proposed legislation has sparked speculation regarding the 27-year-old's sexual orientation.
Raven Symone may have tentatively revealed she is gay following news that more US states are legalizing gay marriage. The actress for the first time has indicated she is a lesbian by tweeting on Friday "I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you."
Raven Symone at the Simon G Summer Soiree at The Palazzo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, 2011.
Following her tweet, her representatives said ""Raven is not getting married. She was just supporting the fact that she heard on NPR that more states legalized gay marriage today."
The 52-year-old actor shows no signs of slowing down
It’s been nearly two decades since the last Beverly Hills cop movie, and Eddie Murphy is set to star in the franchise for a fourth time as the Beverly Hills Cop 4 script moves fast towards completion, Deadline report.
Murphy made a name for himself in the first movie - directed by Martin Brest - as the hard-talking, smartest cop on the block, before building upon that success with the second film, which was helmed by the late, great Tony Scott. By the third film, Murphy was an international star. But it was the first film, made in 1984, that really captured the essence of Muprhy’s comedy.
The subsequent films, made in ’87 and ’94 flopped with the critics, especially the latter, which grabbed a pathetic 10% on review aggregator site, Rotten Tomatoes. The Box Office figures represented what the critics thought; Beverly Hills Cop has a lifetime gross of $234m, while the disappointing third film only has $42m.

We've all had that moment; looking at photos of our favourite celebs and then jumping out of our seats screaming, 'He's HOW old?!' Well, we've been doing a lot of that here at ContactMusic. Some stars seem to have crept up the age ladder pretty sneakily, the odd wrinkle and grey hair barely registering on our radar, while others don't seem to have aged at all! English football player David Beckham was in his twenties when he rose to global popularity and, looking at his recent H&M underwear advert, it seems that his iconic hairstyles and tattoos are our only way of working out the old from the newer pictures of him. However, he is only 37 and has plenty of time to catch up yet. It's the over-50s that have really had our mouths agape in recent times as we've been scouring the net for the most youthful looking middle to old aged stars.

It's that time of year again! The nominations for this year's Razzies have been announced, with Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 - which made a ridiculous $814 million at the box office - leading the way with 11 nominations, including Worst Film and Worst Sequel. A spoof of the Academy Awards, this year's Razzies' picks arrived just one day before Thursday's Oscar nominations. So which directors, actors and actresses will have let out a giant, "NOOOOOOOOOOOO" when catching wind of the infamous nominations today? And perhaps more importantly, who should win (or lose). Which movies and performances really were the worst of the worst? Here goes.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, one of the most successfully grossing films of last year, heads up the Razzie Awards shortlist for the award no one wants to win – Worst Picture. Whilst the Twilight series has made big name stars out of the likes of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Dakota Fanning, its run of films has consistently been panned by ever more desperate critics, eager to see it fail.
If reviewers haven’t had much luck derailing Twilight’s momentum, though, then they certainly did a good job of blunting the momentum of the others going up against it for this year’s Razzie. The BBC reports that high-profile failures Battleship - a film based on the board game (they probably could’ve predicted that before even going to pre-production) – and Eddie Murphy’s disastrous turn in A Thousand Words are among the contenders, with the Adam Sandler-starring That’s My Boy and sickly kids film The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure making up the numbers. It’s fair to say that all these movies took quite the tongue-lashing. Here are some choice quotes from the critics:

Little has caused more contention in the contactmusic office than our recent discussion about the Christmas films list! Obviously, everyone has their own favourite, and to them that will always be the top of the list. One thing that became all too clear to us was that - with the exception of Elf & Bad Santa - there really hasn't been too many full blown Christmas films so we'd like to make a plea to Bill Murray and the other Hollywood greats - PLEASE make a new (top quality) Christmas film to join these festive favourites!
I can't say we particularly advocate parents encouraging their offspring to watch films above their age certificate, but it appears we all grew up in houses that didn't really mind what we watched - and let's face it, some of the best Christmas films might have a few boobs or rowdy drunken behaviour... As children of the 80's and 90's, we're fully aware that there's original to some of these remakes, but as is always the way, these are the films we grew up with and as such, they are our favourites.
Enough explanation, in no particular order here are the films we recommend you watch over the holidays!

Eddie Murphy was honoured by his peers for his outstanding contribution to film, TV, music and stand-up over his 30 + year career.
Chris Rock, Jamie Foxx, Adam Sandler, and Russell Brand were just some of the famous faces at the Beverley Hills gala being aired on Spike later this month (it airs Nov. 14 at 10 p.m. on Spike). Murphy's friends and co-stars had nothing but praise for Murphy, with his appearances on such comedy classics as Coming To America and The Beverley Hills Cop being recalled by co-stars Arsenio Hall and Judge Reinhold. Jeffrey Katzenberg of Dreamworks Animation also gave his heart to Murphy's Donkey character from the Shrek films, whilst his Life co-star, Martin Lawrence, told him from onstage, “You’ve got a friend for life."
There were also video highlights from the funny man's seminal stand-up performances from the 80's, Raw and Delirious, although despite much attempted persuasion Murphy declined to get back on stage and perform stand up again.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to reprise one of his most famous film roles for the upcoming sequel to the reboot of the Conan the Barbarian movie, which now stars Jason Momoa as the fictitious warrior, Reuters reports.
Today (Oct 26) Universal Pictures announced that it not only planned to make a follow-up to the 2011 reboot, which was poorly received by critics and made little impact at the box office, but also that Schwarzenegger, 65, will play the sword-swinging hero in The Legend of Conan. His new role comes 30 years after he first started in the Conan film, the film that made him the star he is today.
On top of the Conan reboot, Schwarzenegger also has a few other projects up his sleeve as he continues to prove that regardless of his eight-year hiatus from Hollywood whilst serving as the Governor of California he will always have a spot waiting for him in Hollywood.

Josh Kovacs has been a resident in Queens for more than ten years; in that time, he has acquired and lived in one of New York City's most secured and lavish apartments. He works for the Wall Street billionaire Arthur Shaw, who just so happens to live above Josh, in a swanky penthouse flat, making him the wealthiest resident there.
One day, Arthur is convicted of stealing two billion dollars from his investors and he is placed under house arrest. The investors he stole from turn out to be Josh and his crew; Arthur has taken their pensions that they entrusted him to manage. Josh is forced to admit that his retirement fund was taken too.
Josh and his crew form a plan to take back their pension fund, which they think is hidden in Arthur's penthouse. They call upon a petty robber, Slide, to help them, who in turn hires his team of amateur thieves, to scout the penthouse. It turns out that the crooks know the layout of that particular apartment, so taking the two billion back should be a cinch, right?

With WWF-style wrestling, vivid color schemes, a scary ogre who's not that scary, psychological evaluation by a talking donkey, loads of humor, and a simple and straightforward plot, Shrek zings along, providing fun and thrills at every turn. But the real treasure lies in Shrek's ability to subtlety poke fun at the mega-mouse corporation of Disney en route to providing a quick 85 minutes of pure entertainment. Torturing the Gingerbread Man? I'm sold.
