Eddie Vedder has revealed plans to release a solo ukulele album.Eddie Vedder, the American grunge legend and Pearl Jam frontman, is set to release a ukulele album titled 'Ukulele Songs', reports the UK's Guardian newspaper.Vedder will follow in the footsteps of Tiny Tim and George Formby by releasing a record of original ukulele songs. Cat Power and Glen Hansard will guest on the album, which will hit shelves on 30th May 2011. After releasing nine records with rock band Pearl Jam, Vedder has only released one previous solo album, a collection of songs for the 2007 Sean Penn movie 'Into the Wild'. 'Ukulele Songs' will also feature three covers, the Everly Brothers 'Sleepless Nights, the Mamas And Papas hit song 'Dream a Little Dream' and the Frankie Lane song 'Tonight You Belong To Me'.
As well as the new record, Eddie Vedder will also release a live concert Dvd, with footage from two of his solo shows in Washington DC. 'Water on the Road' has been directed by Christoph Green and the former Fugazi drummer BRENDAN CANTY.
