Elizabeth Banks says her surrogate is like an "auntie".

The 'Hunger Games' actress - who is married to sports writer and producer Max Handelman - revealed in March that the couple had become parents to baby Felix via a gestational surrogate after struggling to conceive naturally and Elizabeth is happy they have stayed in touch with her.

She told Lucky magazine: "It was a womb issue for me. Embryos wouldn't implant. It's a big leap, inviting this person into your life to do this amazing, important thing for you. And it's hard losing that kind of control. But our surrogate is so extraordinary, and she's still in our lives. She's like an auntie."

Elizabeth - who has been with Max for over 20 years after falling "madly in love" with him at the age of 18, also revealed her hopes that she will be an adventurous mother.

She explained: "My plan is that when Felix is 15, we'll go skydiving together. I mean, the guy is fierce and fearless, and I'm hoping he stays that way. Because I want to be that mom. The one who takes her kid skydiving."
