Tom Sizemore has claimed that his story about setting up the former President of the United States, Bill Clinton, and his ex-girlfriend, actress Liz Hurley, to embark on a year-long affair is completely untrue. The Saving Private Ryan actor has blamed the allegations, which were heard in a recording obtained by RadarOnline, on his drug use at the time.

Sizemore, who dated the Bedazzled actress for three years, has retracted the claims he made, blaming his story on his drug-addled dayd, from which he claims the tape was recorded. "I've never met former President Clinton, I've never known him to know Ms. Hurley," the actor said via HuffPost Live as he sat alongside his manager, Charles Lago, onscreen.

"I'm not denying that I said these things ... I don't remember saying these things," Sizemore said, adding "My perceptions were not the greatest." Though Sizemore swears that he has been sober since 2009, he attributes the story that he told to two pals to his past drug problems.

Liz Hurley

The 52 year-old actor could be heard in the recording telling others about how, at a private White House screening of Saving Private Ryan in 1998, Clinton took him to one side and demanded that Sizemore give him Hurley's number. After flying Hurley to Washington D.C., Sizemore claimed that the pair immediately began an affair that ended after a year.

Sizemore embellished his story with details, such as the President and the First Lady no longer sharing a bedroom, Clinton calling off the affair because he feared becoming romantically involved, and how Clinton got angry when Sizemore was at first reluctant to hand over Liz's digits; all details that enhanced the believability of his tale, meaning it spread like wildfire throughout the gossip media.

The Actress Quickly Denied The Claims Via Twitter.

Hurley herself was the first to rubbish the claims, tweeting yesterday "Ludicrously silly stories about me & Bill Clinton. Totally untrue. In the hands of my lawyers. Yawn."

The date that the tape was recorded is unknown but Sizemore's drug-influenced claims could be related to his apparent fixation with the English actress. He detailed their 3-year fling in a tell-all memoir, By Some Miracle I Made it Out of There, in which he recalls meeting on the set of 1992's Passenger 57 and instantly falling for her "stunningly flawless ivory skin, beautiful voice and charming, throaty laugh."

Could Sizemore's Lies Have An Affect On Clinton's Wife Hillary's 2016 Bid For Presidency?

"I literally couldn't conceal my awe or worshipful feelings for her," Sizemore wrote. "In many ways Elizabeth was the seminal relationship of my young adulthood. She taught me a lot about myself."
