Taylor's friend, the Irish actor Colin Farrell, gave a reading of the poem 'The Leaden Echo and the Golden Echo' by Gerard Manley Hopkins. A family representative said in a statement, "She even wanted to be late for her own funeral", and the service duly ran fifteen minutes behind schedule. Her son Michael Wilding and daughter Liza also gave readings and her grandson Rhys Tivey performed a trumpet solo of 'Amazing Grace'. The service was officiated by a rabbi, as Taylor had converted to Judaism in the 1950's before her marriage to Eddie Fisher.
Elizabeth Taylor, who died early on Wednesday morning (23rd March 2011) from heart failure, was interred in 'The Great Mausoleum', the same area where her friend Michael Jackson was also laid to rest.
