Ella Eyre insists she'd be prepared to shave off her long curly hair - which she has been growing for ''20 years'' - for charity.
Ella Eyre would shave off her hair for charity.
The 'Comeback' singer's long curly locks - which she was been growing for two decades - have come to define her look, but she'd be prepared to shear her signature strands to help a good cause.
When asked if she'd shave her head for charity like pop peer Jessie J did, she said: ''I do a lot of things for charity, so yeah, actually, I would. It's an admirable thing to do, but having said that it has taken me 20 years to grow this. I'd need enough to pay for my wigs for the next 10 years.''
Ella thinks she has the best hair in the music business and was incredulous when it was suggested she'd be competing with former One Direction star Zayn Malik - who recently cropped his locks short - for the title of 'Best Pop Star Hair'.
During an interview with The Guardian newspaper, she said: ''He's (Zayn's) got good hair but he hasn't got the volume of my hair. This is my competitive nature.''
It seems Ella, 21, has had a change of heart because she previously admitted she'd be hesitant to cut her hair shorter because it is an ''integral'' part of who she is as an artist.
Ella - who takes up to three hours a day to style her hair - said: ''It's definitely integral to who I am as an artist, it's part of my live show, you know, like I've got quite an animalistic style and way of performing and it's part of my show. I don't think I could ever shave my hair off, don't think I could ever do it, mainly because it's so curly it'd take it so long to grow it'd be heart-breaking.''
