Ellen Degeneres has detailed how she made her decision to come out as gay in the 1990s, amidst her concerns that the public disclosure of her sexuality would have a negative impact on her career. The comedian, actor and talk show host was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey, for Oprah’s Master Class which airs on Sunday (25th October). In the interview, DeGeneres discussed her coming out, in addition to the development of her career from sitcom star to talk show host.

Last month a three-year old girl named Mila became internet famous when her mother Emily uploaded a video of her having a tantrum after learning that Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine was married. Well on Friday Mila came face to face with the love of her life on the ‘Ellen Degeneres Show’, but it appeared the young fan had already moved on.

Johnson decided not to sing or dance, as is traditional, but performed a monologue. 'Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization's oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.'

Keira Knightley is believed to have given birth to a baby girl, her first child with her husband James Righton.

Multiple sources are said to have confirmed to E! News that the 30 year old actress and her 31 year old husband, formerly a member of nu-rave band Klaxons, welcomed their daughter into the world in London on Tuesday (May 26th).

Knightley and Righton got married in the south of France in May 2013, having been dating since early 2011. They announced that they were expecting a baby in December last year.

Just a month and a half following its television debut, Kelly Brook’s American comedy show ‘One Big Happy’ has been cancelled.

NBC has decided to axe the sitcom after just six episodes due to its dismal ratings, it was announced on Saturday. In response, the 35 year old British model took to social media to tell her fans that it was nevertheless the most “rewarding” opportunity she had ever taken in her life.

“The most incredible, creatively challenging and most rewarding job I have ever had,” she posted on Instagram. “I will miss this Family so much. We laughed, cried and ate a lot of cheese together over the past 18months. Friendships for life not just a season.”

The Fox News anchor at the centre of the Kelly Clarkson “fat-shaming” controversy this weekend has publicly apologised to the singer at to those offended by his comments. Chris Wallace had made the remarks during an interview with conservative radio pundit Mike Gallagher on the latter’s show.

Kerry Washington  added another appearance to her impressive record to her already impressive record as an advocate for diversity, human rights and gender equality. On Saturday, the Scandal star was named the 2015 GLAAD Media Awards Vanguard winner and her speech brought the audience at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Washington compared the problems of the LGBT community to civil rights struggles of the past.

The award is given out every year by the GLAAD to the most prominent and active allies of the LGBT community, as determined by the non-profit organization. "When I was told that I was going to get an award for being an ally to GLAAD, it got me thinking," she said to the crowd, which included Ellen Degeneres, Portia De Rossi, Channing Tatum and Zoe Saldana.

Justin Bieber is being sued by his former neighbour. Jeff Schwartz is suing Bieber on the grounds of emotional distress. Schwartz is claiming Bieber's bodyguard addressed him using an anti-Semitic slur and Bieber was frequently rude to his wife and young daughter. He further claims Bieber's loud parties, drag races and other anti-social behaviour deep affected the Calabasas neighbourhood in which they both lived at the time.

This year’s Academy Awards was the least watched in six years, according to preliminary viewing figures. USA Today reported that initial Nielsen estimates put the 87th Awards stats at 36.6 million viewers, the lowest since 2009.

Sunday’s ceremony, hosted by actor Neil Patrick Harris and dominated by Birdman, was a pretty steep 16% drop on last year’s awards when 12 Years a Slave won Best Picture. Ellen Degeneres hosted that one and, powered by a memorable selfie which was then re-tweeted around the world, it had 43.7 million viewers.

Piers Morgan ended his three year run on his CNN talk show Piers Morgan Live on Friday (28th March) with a plea to the US government to change "the absurd gun laws".Morgan's show was cancelled following low ratings and possibly his involvement in the phone hacking scandal, nevertheless he left the show on a somewhat controversial note.

Morgan, ever controversial, used his final show as an opportunity to comment on the social and political implications of gun laws in the US. He referenced recent tragedies in which guns were used to kill large numbers of people which prompted criticism of gun laws in the US and worldwide.

Morgan has spent a number of years in the states over the past decade and described gun violence, such as that displayed in the Connecticut Sandy Hook massacre and the Colorado Aurora Cinema, as "a disease that infects every aspect of American life". Referencing these attacks Morgan said, as The Independent reports: "I assumed that after 70 people were shot in a movie theatre and then just a few months later 20 first-graders were murdered with an assault rifle in an elementary school, that the absurd gun laws in this country would change, but nothing has happened".

Ellen had the celebrities roaring with laughter as well as, at one stage, gathered together for a selfie. Her character in the sitcom shortly followed suit and, in an episode called “The Puppy Episode”, which received some of the highest-ratings that Ellen had had so far, also came out. The show then went on to tackle some issues faced by the LGBT community, but after another season the show was axed due to falling ratings.

The party room was decked out with floral curtains which gave an enchanting midnight garden effect and provided a beautiful backdrop for the many flowing ballgowns. Whilst waiting to get their statuettes engraved with their name, Oscar winners were treated to a bar, entertainment from singer John Legend and a gourmet meal cooked by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck served on tables decorated with miniature chocolate Oscars.
